Most popular geothermal spa in southwestern Iceland is Blue Lagoon. It is located in a lava field near Grindavik on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Its milky blue shade of color water is rich with salts and algae. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area averages from 37-39°C (99-102°F).
The lagoon is not suitable for infants (children under 2 years). Blue Lagoon is accessible for wheelchair users. Because it's popularity you will need to book your entry days or even weeks in advance.
